Maria José Paz Antolín

Maria Jose Paz is currently Associate Professor at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, Spain, and has taught several courses at other Spanish universities and institutions. Prior to this, she was responsible for the NOW Program (New Opportunities for Women) at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid. She has also co-ordinated research projects regarding foreign investment in Latin America at the non-governmental association “Paz con Dignidad”.
Maria Jose holds a Ph.D. from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and earned her M.Sc. in Economics and Business Management from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, where she specialised in Business Organisation. Her research work, both during and after her Doctorate studies, involved International Economy and Development issues. She has also been a visiting researcher at the Universidad San Carlos in Guatemala and the Universidad ARCIS in Santiago de Chile.
Maria Jose’s work has been published in different international journals. She is a frequent speaker in seminars and congresses in Spain and in Guatemala, being the most recent about the effects of transnational enterprises on the Guatemalan electricity sector.
