Francesco Gracceva is an energy economist working at ENEA, the Italian Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment (Rome). His main experience is in the formulation and analysis of energy scenarios.
His main activity is the elaboration of energy scenarios through mathematical programming models (the "Markal family" of models), used to assess the impact of policy measures and new energy technologies on GHG emissions and energy security. As energy modeler, he collaborates with the Italian ministries involved in energy and environmental policy.
In parallel, he carries out economic analysis of energy markets. He published several articles and contributions about the global energy system and the possibility of a sustainable energy future, for which he has often used comparative analysis of energy-environment scenarios issued by main international institutions.
