Louis Skyner is a partner in Dentons' Energy practice, focused on Russia and CIS. He is an English-qualified solicitor with more than a decade of experience in the energy sector, including upstream and downstream oil and gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), nuclear energy, hydro, wind and solar power.

He advises international oil and gas companies on upstream and downstream projects in Russia and CIS, Russian oil companies on their international investments and operations, and joint ventures and operators on a variety of regulatory and contractual issues. He has extensive experience in structuring and financing projects being developed under concession, production sharing, and risk service agreements, as well as the structuring of sales arrangements.

He has advised the project sponsors of a number of renewable power generation projects in the CIS region on their structuring and financing.

Previously he headed the Russia and CIS Oil and Gas practice of a large international law firm. Prior to that, Louis worked as leading legal counsel at Statoil, where he supported the company's participation in oil, gas and LNG projects in both Russia and the Middle East.
