Dr. Bruno Poulain holds a PHD Degree from the Bordeaux Montesquieu University and is attorney at law at the Paris Bar. He acts as counsel in international arbitrations and has specific skills in the transportation and energy sectors. From 2005 to 2007, he acted as representative of a new EU member State in a dispute in which the question of consistency between intra-EU BIT and EU law was raised for the first time and was appointed by a State in 2006 to submit an expert opinion before the Svea Court of appeal concerning the annulment procedure of an award rendered under the Energy Charter Treaty.
