p>The article reviews oil prices between 1990 and 2004. While major political events caused spikes in oil prices, OPEC actions may have caused small, short-lived spikes. However, the general trend indicates that oil prices are more related to the world economic growth in general and the growth of world's largest economies in particular than other factors such as OPEC and non-OPEC production.
