Engineering and Construction Companies Paving the Way in Anti-Bribery Efforts

Introduction
This article is about the recent signing of an agreement between 19 international companies in the engineering and construction industry to prevent bribery. The agreement came about as a result of an initiative at the Engineering and Construction Industry Governors meeting at the WEF in 2003 and which has continued meeting at working level in 2004. This initiative is relevant to the oil and gas industry because they are also engaged in similar discussions to develop principles amongst their companies in the industry and are committed to pursuing discussions to that end.
