Introduction
The New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards of 1958 (New York Convention) plays a pre-eminent role in the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards. With now over 130 member states, it is the backbone of the international arbitration system.
