Abstract
In order to constitute a financially strong and stable natural gas market and in order to harmonize with legal frameworks of the European Community, Turkey, on 2 May 2001, implemented the Natural Gas Market Law. With the Natural Gas Market Law, import, transmission, storage and distribution of natural gas are dispersed and the state natural gas and pipeline company Boru Hatlari ile Petrol Tasima A.S. is no more a monopoly in the Turkish gas market.
