Abstract
The main two types of fiscal regimes commonly used in the oil industry are production sharing arrangements and concessions. More than half of all countries with petroleum resources use production sharing agreements. The purpose of this study is to examine Russia's fiscal production sharing framework for oil extraction. The present Law on Production Sharing Agreements has been regarded as inadequate by potential foreign investors and parliamentary hearings on legislative issues connected with Russia's production sharing regime are being held in the Russian State Duma.
