Introduction
In 2003, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Company (BTC Co.) launched construction of the BTC pipeline. In November of the same year, the International Financial Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development allocated up to USD 250 million each to finance implementation of the USD 3.6 billion project.
