p>In connection with the introduction of EU-wide emissions trading at the company level, which started in 2005, the inclusion of certificates from CDM projects has been allowed by the so-called "linking directive". With the creation of the "Golden Standard," two different quality standards for such projects have emerged, with potentially unfavourable effects for both industrialised and developing countries.
