p>The criticality of Shell's Nigerian LNG (NLNG) facility on Bonny Island is growing as Nigeria moves to become a significant world LNG producer. Despite the recently increased risk of militia attack, criminal vandalism, looting and unrest by members of local communities remain the greater risks to the project. While the risk of militia attack has the potential to cause a maximum loss to the LNG plant, the impact of crime and looting is estimated to be significantly lower.
