p>Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of the Middle East, Europe and Asia, is a country rich in oil and gas resources, which offer great potential for its future development. Azerbaijan's macroeconomic performance in recent years has been robust with growth rates of approximately ten per cent per year. Extraction and processing of oil and gasrelated activities account for more than 30 per cent of GDP, and are likely to increase further in the future.
