Introduction
The long debated Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline/Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan pipeline (TAP) is again very much a topic for debate due to the rapidly increasing energy demand in South Asia and the soaring cost projections for other gas transport routes (most notably the proposed Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline: IPI).
