Introduction
On 30 October 2006 Sir Nicholas Stern, Head of the United Kingdom Government's Economics Service and Adviser to the UK Government on the economics of climate change and development, presented his report to the British Prime Minister on the Economics of Climate Change.[1] The 'Stern Review' estimates that if we don't act now to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the overall costs and risks of climate change will be equivalent to losing at least 5% of global GDP each year, now and forever.
