I cannot find a better way to start than rephrasing part of the presentation of this module: "[ t]he need for expert testimony in arbitral proceedings is generally unquestioned, but the proper way to bring it to bear is hotly contested. The use of tribunal-appointed experts may be on the upswing, but if so, so is the intensity of the debate over their proper role.
