Introduction
Given the successful implementation of trilateral market coupling in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands and plans for future market coupling between Denmark and Germany and between Norway and the Netherlands, it is reasonable to consider the possibility that day-ahead market coupling and/or market splitting will be implemented over a large portion of Europe by 2012.
