Threats to International Energy Infrastructure - The European Context

Introduction
My presentation is divided into two distinct and yet interconnected parts. First I will discuss steps taken by the European Union to lay the groundwork for critical infrastructure-pipeline protection based on its own set of threat perceptions and then the remit NATO has taken to protect its Member's critical infrastructure. Second, I will discuss those potential threats both real and perceived as critical to European pipelines and in the larger sense to the availability of uninterrupted energy supply to the EU 27 Members.
