Introduction

The Iranian Government has used "Buy-back" as one of its most favoured methods to attract investment in the upstream oil and gas industry. There are certain reasons for adopting this specific model in Iran. This Article tries to clarify the main features and aspects of this contract model but with a view to such reasons and causes.
