Abstract
As Europe is seeing its own natural gas fields soon depleted and in the meantime would like to decrease its dependence on Russian gas, Europe is prospecting long-term alternatives of gas supplies. One of them would be to bring gas from Nigeria's allegedly giant reserves through a pipeline that goes across the Sahara desert and connect existing pipelines between Algeria and Southern Europe.
