Abstract
The article traces roots of the current
Russian policy in the Arctic through the two main issues: delimitation of
maritime boundaries in the Arctic area and creeping jurisdiction of the Soviet
Union in the Russian sector.
Continuities and differences between Arctic
policies of the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russian are discussed.
