Abstract
Climate change in the Arctic is proceeding at twice the rate seen in the rest of the world. Melting sea ice and other changes present us with challenges as well as opportunities. A major challenge is the protection of the vulnerable Arctic environment; opportunities include the possibility of extending offshore oil and gas activities further out to sea.
