Introduction
This is not a "normal" book on energy policy. Not even close. The rationale of the book is to provide a snapshot of a conference (proceedings) held at the European University Institute in Florence - a snapshot of the current EU institutional, academic and industry opinion on the topic at issue for those who were not able to attend the event. The book is based on the annual roundtable organised by the Florence Regulatory School and the Loyola de Palacio Chair, where participation is very limited - and on invitation only.
