Introduction
This paper discusses the prospects and challenges facing the GNPC and its IOC partners under the petroleum agreements i.e. JOAs. Section 2 of the paper focuses on the legal basis for the joint operating agreements (JOAs) between the GNPC and international oil companies. Section 3 highlights the prospects of these collaborations under the joint operating agreements. Section 4 identifies the challenges confronting the parties.
