Introduction
The present article argues the case of building new generation capacity and increasing energy efficiency on the demand side, as two non - mutually exclusive options to meet the energy demand. The paper strives to demonstrate that we need to pay equal attention to both developing new and modern energy infrastructure to replace the "old and ugly", a decision that in it should bring an efficiency gain at the supply side, as well as to invest significantly in demand side energy efficiency.
