Introduction

In India, the domestic availability of oil and gas is limited constant production figures, absence of big find of hydrocarbons and growing economy. India import over 75% of its domestic requirements. However, natural gas production has increased from 32.202 BCM in 2005-06 to 40.679 BCM in 2012-13. But, there was a dicline in production of natural gas in 2012-13 by 14.47% over the previous year due to increasing water cut trend, less base potential of major fields affected production and due to water/sand ingress etc. During 2012-2013, LNG import in terms of quantity was 9.534 ...
