Abstract
A disputed maritime space of 860Km2 between Lebanon and Israel could spark the next war in the Middle East. Both governments claim jurisdiction over that small area. The Lebanese party Hezbollah on one side and Israel on the other expressed their willingness to resort to forcible actions in order to defend their territorial interests. The underlying tension is coupled by the fact that Lebanon does not recognize Israel as a State.
