Executive Summary
The COVID-19 pandemic triggered an expectation in some parts of the world that national governments would use the crisis as an opportunity to accelerate moves to a low-carbon economy and boost the role of renewable energy. This paper assesses whether this has been the case in seven Asian middle-income countries: China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
