Enabling the EU 'Fit for 55' Transition: Canada as a Strategic Partner to Address Hydrogen and Raw Material Vulnerabilities

Abstract
The European Climate Law sets out the European Union's commitment to climate neutrality by 2050. To detail how the EU will deliver on this ambitious goal, the European Commission published a "Fit for 55" climate neutrality package in July 2021. In light of the Fit for 55 agenda and its focus on transforming industry, and the transportation and energy sectors, this article examines the role that Canada could play in accelerating the decarbonisation of the EU's economy through closer trans-Atlantic alignment.
