Abstract

Australia's roadmap for decarbonization relies heavily on replacing coal-fired energy with variable renewable energy sources and a variety of energy storage solutions, aiming for net zero by 2050. The scale of the transition required to deliver on these objectives is monumental - delivering the current renewable energy target will require average annual renewable energy source expansion at around three times the average rate over the past decade, together with massive expansion of a range of storage assets.
