Athens Memorandum of Understanding on a Regional Electricity Market in the Balkan Region

Summary
On 15 November 2002, the energy ministers of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greece and Romania, and a UN representative of Kosovo, signed a Memorandum on the development of a regional electricity market in the Balkan region. The objectives and the political arrangements are set out in the 'Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Regional Electricity Market in South East Europe and its Integration into the European Union Internal Electricity Market'.
