Summary
The Lithuanian natural gas sector has been liberalised since 1992. Natural gas consumption has a prevailing tendency of growth since 1999 and overall domestic natural gas demand will stand at 2-5 per cent within the coming few years. The major activities in the natural gas sector in Lithuania are subject to licensing. Prices of transmission, distribution, storage of natural gas, as well as prices of gas supplied to regulated customers are regulated by the state by way of establishing the ceiling prices.
