IUCN: World Heritage Sites announced as 'No Go' areas for its Oil and Gas Exploration and Development
Gland, Switzerland, 27 August 2003 (IUCN): Following an announcement made at a roundtable discussion at the IUCN Headquarters, the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies (Shell) became the first group in the oil and gas sector to declare natural World Heritage sites 'no go' areas.
