The Nigeria-Sao Tome and Principe Joint Development zone (JDZ) 2003 Licensing round with nine blocks on offer, received 33 bids from 23 companies within the period which ended on 18 October 2003. Dr Tajudeen Umar, Chairman of the JDZ told industry operators, executives of oil companies and journalists that the bids would undergo an evaluation process which would culminate in the award of licences before the end of the year.
