Carbon Sequestration: A Fresh Look at an Essential Tool in the War on Climate Change

Abstract
This article highlights why CO2 sequestration will be a key tool in mitigating climate change and briefly mentions available tax credits for US-based CCUS projects. Relevant federal, Texas, and Louisiana statutory laws regarding CCUS are summarized, along with select laws from other states and countries. The focus of the article is a discussion of key legal issues relating to CO2 sequestration and some fundamental legal principles that can help address and manage these concerns.
