... Plaintiff Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP seeks an order from the Court confirming the arbitrator's award and for the entry of a judgment upon the award. This is an application under sections 171.086(b)(6), 171.087, and 171.092 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code to confirm and enter judgment upon an arbitration award against Defendant Limetree Bay Ventures, LLC. Gibson Dunn provided legal services to Limetree. Limetree failed to pay for those services. Gibson Dunn pursued an arbitration against Limetree and won. Gibson Dunn now seeks a confirmation and judgment reflecting the same. ...

On July 31, 2023, the arbitrator entered an award in favor of Gibson Dunn, concluding that "[Limetree] breached the [Engagement Letter] by failing to pay certain of the monthly invoices billed by [Gibson Dunn]." As a result, the arbitrator awarded Gibson Dunn $2,790,276.30 for unpaid legal fees, interest, and late fees; $79,713.50 for reasonable and necessary attorney's fees; and $13,295.10 for costs incurred in the arbitration (the "Final Award").
