An Interfaith Declaration: a Code of Ethics on International Business for Christians, Muslims and Jews
Year
1993
Summary
A series of Interfaith consultations began in 1984 under the patronage of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, and HRH Crown Prince Hassan Bin Talal of Jordan. Followers of three monotheistic faiths Christianity, Islam and Judaism took part also as well as academics and prominent figures in business and government. Recent consultations of this group discussed an Interfaith code of ethics for international business which is formed in the light of the religious traditions of the three monotheistic faiths. The resulting Declaration illustrates, in a practical way, that people of very different cultures or beliefs often have more in common than is sometimes apparent. The Interfaith Declaration is further described in this article.
