22 January 2009
Note: The special has been published, May 2009, see OGEL Special on EU - Russia relations for the table of contents.
Oil, Gas and Energy Law Intelligence (OGEL) invited submissions for the special issue on EU - Russia relations. Over the years, the relations between these two trading partners have degraded and the recent, still ongoing, Russia - Ukraine crises have further harmed this relationship that should be based on a mutual dependence rather than the fear over loosing markets or loosing supplies.
This OGEL special was developed in co-operation with The EU-Russia Centre. The Centre is a not for profit independent information resource seeking to promote closer ties between the EU and Russia to develop ideas about the future of the relationship, and to ensure that both sides adhere to international standards concerning the key elements of a civil society such as democracy, civil liberties and an independent judiciary.
Subject to author consent, the submitted material will also be considered for a forthcoming book on EU - Russia energy relations. Some of the authors that have already consented to write a chapter for this OGEL special and forthcoming book.
