Mr Guyo Roba graduated with environmental science degree (planning and management), from the Kenyatta University, Kenya, and Masters of Science degree in energy studies (international oil and gas management) from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee. He worked as an Environmental Scientist with an environmental organisation in Kenya, focusing on arid resource management in Kenya, while doing extensive research on optimal resource use among the pastoralist community.
His current research interest is interdisciplinary with emphasis on energy and environment. However, his specific areas of research interest are; evolving power market and role of CCGT in Africa, and the role of NOCs in solving incessant oil shortage in oil importing developing countries with specific focus on East Africa. Other areas of interest are: role of renewable energy in African power sector, emerging technology in gas field monetization among others.
