Doran is the managing partner of the Moscow office, co-ordinator of the firm's CIS practice and a partner in the Energy, Transport & Infrastructure department. He has been qualified as an English lawyer for over 30 years and has legal experience in Russia since 1991.
He has a strong reputation internationally for his energy and natural resources work, where he advises on virtually all of the associated corporate, joint venture and financing aspects of such transactions.
He is also well known for his Russian financing and M&A expertise. He regularly acts for multinationals, banks and other types of financiers and financial institutions.
He has published and lectured extensively on legal issues in the former Soviet Union. In recent years he has also lectured regularly at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee. He is a Fellow of the Society for Advanced Legal Studies in London.
