About the African Energy and Mineral Management Initiative (AEMI)
AEMI focuses on energy and mining projects in Africa, especially in the context of social and economic policy and governance. AEMI offers well-resourced evidence-based advice to drive lasting, positive change in the African energy and mining industry. While addressing the key issues in energy and mining, AEMI works closely with energy sector experts, governments, institutions, donors and local communities. In order to achieve its objectives, AEMI undertakes various projects to stimulate the involvement of young Africans in the energy space. These projects include the African Youth Energy Conference and the AEMI Mentorship Programme. In these platforms, experienced professionals in the energy and mining fields are invited to impact on the younger generation with the aim of inspiring young participants to develop their careers and improve their professional skills in the energy and extractive industries.
