Harsha Rangaswamy
Profile
Harsha Rangaswamy has completed his MSc in Energy, Environmental Technologies and Economics at City, University of London. He has a professional background in civil engineering and sustainability, with more than four years of industry experience in India across infrastructure development, green building, and project management. His academic work focuses on low-carbon energy technologies, energy policy, and regulation for clean energy transitions. His dissertation explores the integration of high-temperature heat pumps with phase-change thermal energy storage for waste-heat recovery in the paper industry.
His research interests centre on the techno-economic coupling of next-generation energy systems, particularly Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), thermal storage, high-temperature heat pumps, industrial decarbonisation, and energy security. In addition to his technical research, Harsha is active in the study of energy law and policy, examining the intersection of regulation, finance, and innovation within the international nuclear sector. He aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based policy and regulatory frameworks that advance clean-energy cooperation and sustainable industrial transitions.
