Robert Barrington

Robert Barrington (Director), holds British nationality, and joined F&C in 2002. He is responsible for coverage of the pharmaceutical, defence, and oil and gas sectors and oversees the team’s engagement programmes in the areas of biodiversity, bribery & corruption and political influence. Robert also supervises policy and research for F&C’s ethically-screened funds. Prior to joining F&C, Robert was Chief Executive of the European division of the environmental research group Earthwatch. He has published more than fifty academic and non-academic articles on topics ranging from the UN’s Millennium Ecosystem Assessment to the Global Corruption Report published by Transparency International. Robert is an Honorary Visiting Fellow of Green College, Oxford. He is a member of the Board of the Environment Council, the Advisory Committee of the UK Export Credit Guarantee Department, the University Court of Oxford Brookes University, and the advisory group of the Green College Centre for Environmental Policy & Understanding. Robert holds a PhD in History from the European University Institute in Florence and an Honours degree in History from the University of Oxford.
Robert holds a PhD from the European University Institute, where he wrote a thesis on Anglo-Venetian relations in the Renaissance. He is a member of the Board of the Environment Council, the University Court of Oxford Brookes University and the advisory group of the Green College Centre for Environmental Policy & Understanding.
