Rob Merrick is a partner in Freehills' corporate practice. His practice focuses on the oil and gas, electricity and mining industries.
Industry experience He has advised project owners, contractors and off-takers on issues relating to project structuring and financing, project construction, operation and maintenance, commodity sales and transportation and government regulation (particularly third party access to infrastructure facilities).
He has also advised both vendors and purchasers of energy and resources assets. In addition to his energy and resources experience, Rob regularly advises on corporate transactions. He has advised on numerous equity capital raisings and ASX listings (acting for both offerors and underwriters), asset and share sales, corporate reorganisations and restructurings and general Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rule compliance advice.
Professional background Rob holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Murdoch University. Prior to joining Freehills, he worked as a commercial lawyer for an international law firm in Hong Kong. Rob is a regular lecturer to the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries' Applied Corporations Law course.
