Profile

Loredana De Angelis joined Macchi di Cellere Gangemi in 1997. Partner since 2003.

She has acquired a broad experience in Administrative Law, Energy and Environmental Law and Water Law.

She has advised the Lithuanian Energy Regulator in the framework of the Twinning Project concerning the Strengthening of the Energy Market Regulator in Lithuania. As per the water sector, she advised Proaqua-Cispel and participated, as an Italian expert, to the EU Project for the European Water Regulation Bank (involving Italy, France and Spain).

She was contracted Professor of Environmental Law at the University of the Molise Region in the 1999-2004 period. Since 1990 she has been lecturing for the Benches of Public Law, Administrative Law and Public Law of Economics at the Faculties of Law and of Political Science of the Libera Universitŕ Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (Luiss) "Guido Carli". She was researcher at the Environmental Law Observatory in Florence, where she dealt with mining law and with the regulatory framework of the V.I.A. (Environmental Impact Assessment). She has been cooperating with the National Institute for Research, Bench of Regional Studies and currently works at the Research Centre on Public Administrations "Vittorio Bachelet" (Luiss).

Ms. De Angelis holds a Political Science Degree from Libera Universitŕ Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (Luiss) "Guido Carli" of Rome (magna cum laude, 1989) and a Law Degree from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (1997). She was granted a post-graduate Degree in E.U. Environmental Law (1993).

She is author of several articles on energy, environment, water and waste. Among the most recent: From monopoly to competition: an update on the opening of the Italian electricity market, in European electricity review, 2004; L'oblazione nel settore energetico, in Mercato, concorrenza, regole, Il Mulino, n. 2/2005, pp. 413 - 424.

Macchi di Cellere Gangemi is an Italian law firm with over eighty specialist lawyers, serving business clients worldwide on matters of Italian, European and International Law. The practice of the firm mainly relates to industrial, commercial, financial and tax matters, with particular emphasis on trans-national operations and investments. Our clients include major companies and public institutions in Italy and abroad.

Our Energy and Natural Resources group provides advice in connection with the research and exploitation of natural resources and, in particular, oil and gas, including the drafting and negotiation of collaboration agreements and the preparation and filing of applications for obtaining the pertinent authorisations. Our firm has been one of the first to be involved in the electricity sector and has matured a significant experience in connection with projects for co-generation plants and renewable sources, including waste-to-energy. Our firm is also involved in all the matters arising from the liberalisation of the electricity sector in Italy. In particular, we are active in all aspects of electricity trading, including issues arising in connection with the pool market.
