Andrew Thompson has more than 30 years' experience as a specialist legal adviser to the energy and infrastructure sectors, both in Australia and internationally. This includes five years with the Burmah Oil Group of Companies in the UK and then, in Australia, as Legal Manager for Woodside Petroleum for stage one of the A$12 billion North West Shelf Gas (LNG Export and Domestic Gas) Project. Participants in that project include Shell, BHP Billiton, Chevron Texaco, BP, Mitsui, Mitsubishi and Woodside Petroleum. More recently Andrew has assisted Tokyo Gas in its negotiation for a 15 year LNG offtake commitment and equity in the Gorgon Project.
Andrew is the Immediate Past President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WA) Inc and member of its Resources and Energy Committee. He has also served as President of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia and the Australian Mining and Petroleum Law Association (WA branches) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
