Profile
Dr Maria Rita Mazzanti received a Law Degree from University of Rome "La Sapienza", an LLM degree in European Community Law from King's College in London and a PhD in International Relations from SciencesPo in Paris. She is a senior Legal Consultant and her area of expertise is Energy law and Regulation. Between 2006 and 2013 Dr Mazzanti served as the Head of the Liaison Office in Geneva of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Previously, she worked for the Italian Electricity and Gas Regulatory Authority, Milan, first serving in the Legal Division, where she dealt with issues related to the Authority's legal work in the field of electricity, and later as consultant. Before joining the Authority, Dr Mazzanti worked in the Legal Divisions of Enel in Rome, and of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. She has consulted for government institutions in the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, as well as Mediterranean regional institutions.
