Maria Rita Mazzanti has received a Law Degree from University of Rome "La Sapienza" and LLM degree in European Community Law from King's College in London. She is presently with the UN in Geneva. Previously, she was a consultant with the Italian Electricity and Gas Regulatory Authority, Milan, and served in the Legal Division of the Italian Regulatory Authority, where she dealt with issues mainly related to the Authority's legal work in the field of electricity. Before joining the Authority, Ms Mazzanti worked in the Legal Divisions of Enel (former Italian electricity board), Rome, and of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna. She has consulted for the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Kosovo and the Czech, Lithuanian and Turkish regulatory authorities in the context of EC-supported twinning programs.
